We went to a Tibetan Budhist Monastery this morning! (Thursday)

Wow! I loved our first day out having adventures. The first thing we did was leave the hotel through the “back yard” (walking past the pool), then we walked about 15 minutes to a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. What a beautiful place. We happened to arrive on the day that they were having a ritual for someone who recently died. I’m told it’s to ask for the person to have a smooth transition to their next life.

Incense! Have you ever seen a thurible this large?!

  1. Everyone in the group looks so excited and orderly. That must have been a fascinating experience to be a part of. I hope you got to hear what the horns sound like.

  2. I’m surprised you were allowed to film the ritual. Not intrusive or disrespectful I guess. Also I wonder what the people of the town thought as you all trooped by. Being Buddhists, I’m sure they were charitable
